From November 7th to 10th top names of green Economy will once again meet in Rimini Fiera for Ecomondo 2012, the 16th International Trade Fair on Material & Energy Recovery & Sustainable Development. Ecomondo 2011 was an amazing success with 75,980 trade visitors of whom 7,754 were foreign. Last year 1200 companies took part in the expo along with 700 speakers, 2000 business meetings and 156 conferences. The Rimini expo centre is one of the best in Europe when it comes to environmental sustainability issues.
Simone Castelli, Rimini Fiera business unit manager, describes Ecomondo 2012: “We are working following the logic of an industrial chain or cycle – to multiply business opportunities for trade members. Ecomondo is the marketplace for sustainability and, once again in 2012, we shall increase its international profile, focussing on the most interesting markets, such as those of Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean area and North Africa. Not to mention the traditionally more receptive nations (Germany, France, Spain) and the promising markets of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Brazil.”
This year the Rimini venue will simultaneously host KEY ENERGY for the 6th time and COOPERAMBIENTE, which has been the event that showcases the best experiences of cooperation on environments issues for the last five years.16 halls of the expo centre will be used for Ecomondo, that will be divided into different sections including: Waste, Reclaim Ecpo, Intertech, Oro Blu, Air and Sustainable Cities.
Sustainable cities have been a tremendous success, and this year it’s back at Ecomondo with the 6th edition. Many companies support “Sustainable City” and they are involved in all the different areas including: Building, Waste, Energy, Mobility, Social-Education, Communication and Leisure time. This way “Sustainable City” is representing an economic chain, where private investors and Public Administrations meet and build a smart city.
“Sustainable City” will be represented on 4000 m2. It will provide a “cross section” of cities in which companies will propose the most innovative solution. In the Agora zone, which is in the centre of the halls, the well known designer Angelo Grassi will feature four areas. These areas form four urban districts where different material will be used. Here there will also be a Bio-lake, wind-turbines, green areas, car parks, hills, roads, trees and hedges.
